In the UAE context, it is used to assure immigration authorities, embassies, and government bodies that the beneficiary will be financially supported and will not become a public burden.
This document is distinct from an ordinary sponsorship letter because it is legally sworn under oath before a licensed notary public, making it a legally binding declaration subject to UAE perjury laws.
